1. Do you feel like the wages for municipal employees, such as the NOFD and EMS are adequate, and if not, how do you propose raising them?
No, wages for municipal employees are too low. As a member of the New Orleans City Council, I voted to have all city contract employees to earn a livable wage by 2024. I am committed to work with the Mayor to increase direct city employees to earn a livable wage.
2. Will you support an ordinance to establish an independent external evaluation of the Ethics Review Board as called for in the Charter? Please explain your answer.
Yes, transparency & accountability must take place at all level. I will willing to author an ordinance to put in place an independent external evaluation of the Ethics Review Board.
3. In your role as the regulatory body for Entergy, what factors would you consider to increase rates?
During this pandemic when families are facing lost of income, I am very sensitive to support any request for a rate increase. We need to explore alternative resources to support Entergy investment to our infrastructures.
4. Where is the best site for a new City Hall and why?
City Hall should be in Eastern New Orleans for the following reasons: (1) government should where people are at - over 80,000 residents live in the East; (2) availabilities of open land to built city hall; and (3) city hall can help revitalize an area that has great potential.
