Questions specific to the position

1. Do you feel like the wages for municipal employees, such as the NOFD and EMS are adequate, and if not, how do you propose raising them? No. I believe the $15/hr movement is long-overdue and outdated. I want to advocate for $25/hr by 2025.
2. Will you support an ordinance to establish an independent external evaluation of the Ethics Review Board as called for in the Charter? Please explain your answer. I would consider supporting such an ordinance, and would specifically require that it be comprised of members nominated from all City workers and appointed by City Council. I do not support the current means of nomination for the Ethics Review Board, and having the balance between mayoral appointees and council appointees lends itself to more credibility.
3. In your role as the regulatory body for Entergy, what factors would you consider to increase rates? I would not consider raising rates, particularly when Entergy is making record profits during a pandemic while people are being evicted because of housing costs. I believe we should explore municipalizing Entergy.
4. Where is the best site for a new City Hall and why? Where the people want it- the best ideas happen when everyone's involved. I personally support a renovation of the existing facilities and expanding ancillary offices throughout the city.
