2024 Louisiana Statewide Election Dates
March 23, 2024 Presidential Preference/Municipal Primary Election
A voter may only vote for a presidential party’s nominee only if the voter has that party affiliation designated on their voter registration.
February 21—Deadline to register by mail or in person at the Registrar of Voters or Office of Motor Vehicles.
March 2 — Deadline to register online or at the GeauxVote Online Registration System.
March 9 — Early Voting begins Polls open 8:30 AM-6:00 PM excluding Sunday, March 10.
March 16 — Early Voting ends.
(except military and overseas voters)
Request an absentee ballot online through the Secretary of State Voter Portal or in writing through your Registrar of Voters Office.
March 22 — Deadline for a registrar of voters to receive a voted absentee ballot is 4:30PM.
(other than military and overseas voters)
March 23 —ELECTION DAY The Polls are open from 7AM to 8PM.
April 27, 2024 Municipal General Election
March 27 — Deadline to register by mail or in person at the Registrar of Voters or Office of Motor Vehicles.
April 6 — Deadline to register online or at the GeauxVote Online Registration System.
April 13 — Early Voting begins Polls open 8:30 AM-6:00 PM excluding Sunday, April 14.
April 20 — Early Voting ends.
April 23 — Deadline at 4:30PM to request an absentee ballot
(except military and overseas voters)
